Zac Efron è stato scelto insieme a Will Ferrell in un nuovo film comico.
L’attore 37enne è quello di presentare di fronte alla star di “Anchorman” nel nuovo film senza titolo che Nicholas Stoller sta guidando dalla sua stessa sceneggiatura.
Stoller ha recentemente lavorato con Will e Reese Witherspoon nel film comico romantico “sei cordialmente invitato”.
La nuova commedia racconta la storia di un giovane detenuto (Efron) appena uscito di prigione mentre prende un ostaggio in aula di reality TV perché incolpa il giudice megalomane (Ferrell) per una sentenza passata che crede abbia rovinato la sua vita.
Stoller sta producendo per il suo banner di Stoller Global Solutions mentre Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum e Alex Brown lo fanno tutti per Gloria Sanchez Productions.
Nel frattempo, Zac è destinato a recitare in doppio ruolo nel suo prossimo film “Famous”, che è ambientato a Los Angeles ed esplora il lato oscuro della celebrità.
Efron suonerà il fan eccessivo Lance Dunkquist e il rubacuori di Hollywood James Jansen nel film che viene diretto da Jody Hill.
Una sinossi si legge: “Lance Dunkquist has one asset that’s about to change his life – he has the face of a movie star. And not just any movie star – Lance is the spitting image of Hollywood icon, James Jansen. Lance is about to travel to Los Angeles to make his dream come true. Lance is going to be famous, no matter what it takes…”
Zac è diventato famoso mentre Troy Bolton nel franchise “High School Musical” della Disney e ha spiegato che voleva sfidare se stesso come attore prendendo parti che il pubblico non avrebbe potuto aspettarsi dopo essere passato dalla serie.
Ha detto: “I’m constantly faced with two paths. The road that leads to something everybody has already seen or is expecting, or the more challenging road, which tends to be a bit more confusing and definitely the harder road to take. And inevitably I always go with that road when I can.”
Tuttavia, le capacità di danza che ha acquisito in “High School Musical” sono state utili per il suo ruolo di lottatore Kevin Von Erich nel film del 2023 “The Iron Claw”.
Zac ha detto a Heyuguys: “Dancing ha aiutato, di sicuro. Non c’era modo di entrare nel wrestling se non solo per iniziare. Tutti i ragazzi, ci siamo impegnati dal primo giorno, dalla prima lezione. Ci siamo presentati, abbiamo lasciato cadere il nostro ego alla porta e abbiamo appena iniziato ad ascoltare. Avevamo un ottimo allenatore e sì, è stato difficile.
“Wrestling is no joke, I have a ton of respect for it and it is one of the most fun things that I have been able to learn to apply to a film. It pulls on every creative and physical part of your being. It’s really fun!”
